Nose lift surgery or rhinoplasty is a medical procedure done in order to improve the appearance of a client’s nose. Through the years, depending on the needs and preferences of a client, cosmetic surgeons have thought of various procedures that should meet the client’s expectations. This procedure is done in most countries nowadays. You have the option to choose whether you will have the surgery in your hometown or visit countries like the Philippines and other Asian countries where the procedure is offered in a more affordable cost.
The following is a general overview of the various nose lift or nose job surgery procedures that is commonly done today – the closed rhinoplasty, open rhinoplasty, natural rhinoplasty and non-surgical rhinoplasty.
In the first one, general anesthesia or a local one is administered, and then incisions are made on the rim of the nostril where it will be hidden from view when the client heals. This is usually done to correct a breathing problem by separating the soft tissues from underlying structures. Next, the surgeon reshapes the cartilage and the bone. This is also done to reduce the size of the nose. The nasal bones will be carefully fractured towards the end of the procedure. When you want your nose built up, the surgeon might create grafts using cartilages from your nose, ears and ribs. Other materials that can be used includesilastic implants, cartilage grafts and human tissue.
A splint is then placed to maintain the new position of tissues and underlying structures. Nasal packing is then placed to control bleeding. This procedure removes the risk of having visible scars after the surgery but does not offer much reshaping on the part of the surgeon.
Open rhinoplasty, on the other hand, is done by creating an incision across the columella or the small strip of skin that is found between the nostrils. The surgeon is then allowed to lift the skin off the tip of the nose in order to be able to shape the cartilage and other bones found in the nose precisely. This procedure enables the surgeon to properly visualize the inner structures in order to produce a better and more predictable end result.
Once healed, the incision made will leave a very small scar that will be unnoticeable afterwards. Note that people who have thicker skin or are blessed with a darker or olive complexion are more prone to scarring.
The third option, which is natural rhinoplasty are constantly challenged in order to produce a more natural looking nose that will last for a very long time. In the past, those who have undergone nose lift surgery appear as though their noses were overdone and would sometimes be disproportionately small as compared to the other facial features. This usually happens when the surgeons remove too much of the natural structure of the nose. When the tissues begin to heal, it will look too small and sometimes even narrow, upturned and pinched up.
Now, nasal structure is preserved as much as possible. Whenever deemed necessary, grafts are utilized in order to support the nose and pave the way for proper breathing to occur. Natural rhinoplasty is best done alongside with the open method.
Lastly, the non-surgical method benefits clients who don’t want to go under the knife. Usually, clients heal more quickly and experience lesser pain. Also, the cost is more reasonable in this type. Botox is injected to enhance the appearance of the nose. It is the other option considered when a first nose lift surgery failed to bring the expected results.
